Bosso decimates Dembare in the first ZPSL match, ZIFA picks new Warriors Gaffa
Every football fan’s predilection, the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has commenced and what a treat it is to fans alike. The most anticipated match was between the traditional two: HIGHLANDERS and DYNAMOS who went at it in Barbour Fields, Bulawayo.
A 2-1 win was enough to see Dembare swallow down a humble pie served cold by Bosso. Drama was not far at the event, as the match ended, police quickly went into action to see that the grotesque image that circulated last year would not be like déjà vu and fans from Bosso humorously started singing ‘asingeni’ (we will not enter the stadium).
The colliery boys were successful in burning the YADAH miracle boys in a one nil win as fans across the country still await Khama Billiat’s star performance. The Miracle boys also itch to finally play in their newly established home ground – The Heart Stadium as they await to play a home fixture.
The diamond miners, MANICA DIAMOND boys got their shine dusted after losing to SIMBA BHORA 3-2, another match that was interesting to watch. New Boys Arenel Movers held the defending champions NGEZI PLATINUM STARS FC to an all nil draw in Bulawayo. It was the Bulawayo chicken that became vegetarian as CHICKEN INN beat CAPS UNITED one nil at home.
GREEN FUEL were not forgetful to remind BULAWAYO CHIEFS how football is played in the football pitch and not on the X (formerly twitter) timeline as they beat them 2-1. FC PLATINUM eased their way through new comers CHEGUTU PIRATES in a one nil win while ZPC KARIBA were held by the Gweru Wifi Boys TELONE FC to a 2-2 draw.
ZIFA has announced Norman Mapeza as the new interim Head coach for the warriors with the Ngezi Platinum coach as his assistant. Fans have however expressed dismay online as they wanted Liverpool and Warriors legend the former goalie Bruce Grobbelar to be the Head coach in an effort of rebranding the national team
